John Smith is a sophomore at Cedar Ridge University studying Christian Ministry. He grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he became involved in his local church’s youth ministry and developed a passion for serving students and sharing the Gospel. John first learned about La Montaña through a missions conference and immediately felt called to be part of what God is doing through camp ministry in Costa Rica. This summer, he is serving as a Summer Intern, helping lead activities, build relationships with campers, assist with work projects, and support visiting teams from the United States.

Through this internship, John hopes to grow in his faith, develop leadership skills, and learn how to effectively minister across cultures. He is excited to see how God works in the lives of campers and fellow interns throughout the summer. When he’s not serving at camp, John enjoys hiking, playing guitar, drinking coffee with friends, and spending time outdoors.
